Abstract: Natural killer cell lymphoma/leukemia is a
rare disease with an aggressive behavior and
high mortality rate without treatment. Bone
marrow biopsy and flow cytometry are important
tools for the diagnosis. This entity
is related to Epstein Barr infection and the
baseline DNA titer represents an independent
prognostic factor. Treatment consists of a chemotherapy
regimen called SMILE and eventually
stem cell transplant. We report a case of
a patient with NK cell lymphoma/leukemia,
diagnosis, treatment and clinical outcome.
Key words: Natural killer-T cell lymphoma/leukemia,
EBV DNA titer,
SMILE regimen.
