Acquired Agranulocytosis: Diagnostic Disquisition

Abstract: Agranulocytosis is a rare clinical syndrome characterized
by neutrophil counts below 500/mm3, associated
with severe infectious manifestations. The
most common causes are associated with drugs, representing
two thirds of them. One of the toxic causes
is cocaine adulterated with levamisole.
We report the case of a patient diagnosed with acquired
agranulocytosis. The possible etiologies are
discussed.
