The GATLA experience in the treatment of pediatric and
adolescent patients with High Risk Hodgkin Lymphoma.
Authors: David A. Verón
Abstract: Although most of the children and adolescents with
newly diagnosed high-risk Hodgkin lymphoma (HL)
will achieve remission and cure, this run the important
risk of long term toxicities. The therapy is titrated
on the basis of risk group stratification using
clinical prognostic factors and then refined through
assessment of interim chemotherapy response. No
study has clearly demonstrated the factors that are
sufficient in identifying the patients at highest risk
for relapse that may benefit from therapy intensificonocication.
After defining pediatric high-risk HL, current
strategies for this selected group of patients will be
reviewed along with key findings from studies in
adults with high-risk HL that are applicable to the pediatric population. Finally the GATLA experience
in the treatment of pediatric patients with high-risk
HL will be exposed.
