Abstract: We report a 66 years old male patient, in chronic oral anticoagulation
due to a recurring paroxysmal atrial fibrillation,
admitted for syncope associated with diffuse abdominal
pain and a 23 points fall in his hematocrit value. A computed tomographic scan detected a profuse peritoneal
bleeding. An abdominal arteriography showed a gastroepiploic
artery aneurysm wich was surgically resected. Arterial hystopathologic study revealed a segmental arterial
mediolysis (SAM).
