Thrombopoietin receptor agonist therapy in pediatrics
and adults with immune thrombocytopenia

Abstract: The immune thrombocytopenia is a frequent cause of consultation. It is characterized by isolated thrombocytopenia
and a lack of a specific trigger. Recently there have been important changes in the diagnostic and treatment of this disease. In addition, there have been also advances in therapy. It is necessary a constant updating. The purpose
of this article is a revision of new available therapeutical
strategies such as thrombopoietin receptor agonist therapy like eltrombopag and romiplostim.
