Abstract: Some of the disadvantages of the medicaments nowadays in use as anticoagulants, as the not by installments heparina or the heparinas of low molecular weight, have stimulated the development of new drugs. The inhibiting ones of the factor Xa are an example of these new medications. The SR90107A/ORG31540 is a new pentasacárido (PS) that represents the minimal sequence of the chain of heparina capablly of joining the antitrombina the IIIrd and of promoting the activity anti-Xa. There was demonstrated that the PS exercises an effect antitrombótico in several animal models of arterial and venous thrombosis.
