Abstract: The striking development of technology and
science during the lasts decades has shaked the moral
basis of Occident, leading to the emergence of Bioethics
as an attempt to overcome the dilemmas and
conflicts in that area. Today, our societies makes an
effort trying to find a proper humanistic frame where
we can rightly conjugate technique with values, “tekné”
with “medeos”. Bioethics rise, then, as an essential
scientific transdisciplinar reflection and emerge
as a right field where conflicts between principles
and moral values vs the reality of specific cases can
be treated.
In between them stands out, in that condition of
severe and terminal disease of people when conventional
science has no more place, the dying dimention. Is
here where central and structural lines of our culture
emerge, with common particularities to all Occident.
Few topics as this undress the contradictory and conflictive
faces of this postmoderm time.
In this work we try to focus on some approaches of
that problem from the ethics and moral platform, pointing
out various possibilities that the terminal patient
has to pass in their way of dying, especially from the
ethics-legal view
Key words: bioethics, terminal patient, death,
dying.
